Integrated, coordinated and sustainable natural heritage needs to improve its knowledge about the complex processes that govern it, considering the interaction between the anthropogenic activity and the environmental conditions.
This project proposes the installation and commissioning of a KOSTASystem station on the Bakio beach focused on the development of specific management tools for beaches, in particular with an application to monitor the density of occupation. In addition, this system will provide the baseline for monitoring and understanding the dynamics of the sand.
The area of interest is part of the beach of Bakio between the emerged zone boundary, marked by the promenade, to the boundary to where the waves usually break at low tide and laterally between the area to the west known as the port and the cliffs of the Red Rocks area to the east.
